WHY?

There is something comforting about having a warm cup of coffee, tea or a snack in your hand that takes the edge off when meeting new people.  We also want to offer free resources for those who are seeking to learn more about their faith in our welcome booth.
 
At Compass, “hospitality is our mentality.” Food and drinks help our guests feel at home and at ease. 
 
Also, a drink can help people stay awake and alert to better hear God’s Word! 

Role

  • Arrive at 10:00am
COFFEE BAR
  • Pull out coffee & water steamer pots, coffee filter, coffee, pot stand and Brita pitcher & stand. Immediately get the coffee & hot water going so it has time to brew before guests arrive.
  • To make coffee: Fill water level to about ¾ full (about the 35 line). Assemble rod and black plastic filter piece on top in the pot. Make a small hole in the center of the filter and place it in the black holder. Fill coffee to the same level as the water (i.e. if you filled the pot ¾ then fill the coffee to ¾ of the coffee filter). Plug in pot and it will automatically begin to heat up.
  • For water steamer, fill until about ½- ¾ full. For Brita, fill all the way.
  • Take out tea & sugar container (refill if needed), wooden trays, coffee cups, stirrers in tin, coffee cup sleeves, bowl of creamers (refill if needed), and water cups and organize in the large tray on the table (put taller items in the back).
  • Place the snack sign up sheet and pen in an open space on the table.
  • Ensure there is a clean trash bag in the trash can.
  • Set up snacks on table in plates or trays. If there are extra snacks that day that do not fit on the coffee table, set them up on the sound booth table.
  • Extra supplies can be located in the bins in the hospitality cabinet. If you have extra time after set up, feel free to clean out or organize those bins.
  • Please let Theresa Navarre  know if there is anything we are running low on so we can order more.
WELCOME BOOTH
  • Make sure booth is set up, signs are properly placed, and anything that needs refilling gets refreshed. You should find refills in the lower half cubbies.
  • Place curtain on lower half with velcro
  • If you have extra time after set up, feel free to clean out or organize the cubbies.
