Making & Running Slides

Why?

The Bible can be very intimidating for a guest and it is helpful to have the exact scripture up on the screen to help them visually see and engage with the passage. Slides also highlight the main points in the message which helps them remember the points after leaving the service.

Studies show that Worship is one of the most uncomfortable times for a new-comer because they do not know the songs. Having the lyrics up can help our guests feel more comfortable as they can participate if they would like. Having the words on the screen also helps everyone process the lyrics, what is being said, and worship God on a deeper level.

Making Slides Role

Lights

WHY?

We want to give God our excellence, including in our worship service. It may seem like a small task, but in order to foster an environment of spiritual growth, the atmosphere in the room plays a large part in meeting with God.
On the practical side, the slides, which contain song lyrics, scripture, sermon points, and announcements, are easier to read depending on when the lights are on or off.

Lights role

  • Arrive at 10:30am.
  • Check with Slides person if there are any additional videos during the sermon that lights would need to be off for.
  • Double check which switches turn off which lights.
  • Join Pre-Service Prayer Meeting at 10:35am
  • Sit on the side with the light switch
  • Make sure lights are OFF during worship songs and ON during the sermon and announcements.

- Lights OFF before 1st Song (11am)
- Lights ON after sermon roll-in video - for all sermon (~11:15am)
- Lights OFF after Announcements/Connection Card time (~11:50am)

*Note: Times of prayer are a good transition time to turn lights on and off.
